Convertible tablet

I'm looking for a convertible tablet.
Requirements:
USB port on tablet
Pen/digitizer (built in preferably)
Ethernet (RJ 45) port (on keyboard dock)
Extra battery in dock
HDMI/VGA output
SD card reader

So far, the Fujitsu Stylistic Q702 matches. It's good (and expensive), but it doesn't come with full HD 1080p resolution screen like the SAMSUNG ATIV Tab 7, which is quite good. It's just missing the RJ 45 port and extra battery.

Porsche

Wow there are quite a few Porsches in town.

This white Cayenne S had the letters(stickers) along the edge of the front doors. A while later there was a yellow Cayman having the same detail. Some time later I saw a black Panamera .... hahaha Too common.

I never knew the Cayenne is about the same price as an X5. (which explains its popularity) I don't understand why people buy the X6. It's not for off-road at all.

Purple Audi R8

This purple Audi R8. I think its QAR 7. The sound is ok, not the high pitched one. Overtake on the left then right. Reminds me of the Shmee 150 Purple R8 Spyder.

Euro plates

So, since when did Euro-style license plates become popular? There are definitely more of such plates in Malaysia and in Singapore. In Malaysia, I have seen 'D' on a VW GTI and BMW. Well, all sorts of (non-conventional) letters can be found below the 12 stars:MY, MAL, KUL, KL, J, JPN, SG, SGP... whatever. Interestingly, they all have black plates.

Japanese cars like to have 'J' europlates.

A quick search and I found a company that does such plates: pickplate.com.my

It's like saying'Congratulations! Malaysia/Singapore is now part of the EU.' -.-

The best car to put europlates on, in this part of the world, is Aston Martin. The natural right hand drive version, especially when it can be done legally in Singapore(Yellow at the back, White in front)

Today, I saw a BMW with an M5 badge, but it's just any ordinary BMW. Well, why bother.
I also saw an Audi A6...hybrid.
On Saturday, I saw a BMW M3. I think it's real. (It will be too much work to change the bonnet, the brakes and the bodykit. The entire car was like black. I think frozen black is the word.  Red brake calipers(if I didn't forget) It was in traffic and I didn't hear anything.

I have seen quite a few previous generation M cars with the funny side vents.

I think the BMW M6 GC is quite good, but at 1M, it's really not worth it at all.

Porsche Cayenne seems to be popular, as well as the Audi Q7.

Monday 22 July 2013

Hah... C63 AMG 6.3 4 door in Malaysia. Quite a few 5 series too... To own a C63 AMG in this part of the world... that's amazing.

Friday 19 July 2013

Last night, I dreamt of forceps, needle holders and scissors... WTF? I couldn't get it out of my mind even when sleeping? I never felt like this before...

Too bad...

Thursday 18 July 2013

Aufrecht, Melcher and Großaspach

0-100 km/h in 4.6? That's very good... A 45/CLA 45 AMG... and 2 liters??? 4 cyclinders??? Great...
Similar 0-100 to C63 AMG... Cool.

BTW I saw an S63 AMG just outside my house... Lollll

Want to go car spotting? Try Singapore

Yesterday, there was this black Porsche with large orange letters GT3 RS on the sides and an orange GT3 RS label at the back. The sound was louder than normal, just light throttle. Cool spoiler. I guess the only way to tell everyone that your Porsche is special is to put large, conspicuous 'GT3 RS' labels. Later that night, I could see so many Audi lights. The thin style lights are pretty cool. If not for the ridiculous car prices, the streets here will look better than the streets in London.

White C180 Coupé not bad actually. I also saw the E class coupé

Yesterday, there was a Porsche Panamera in front of Parkway Parade.

NEX 6 review

It has been about 30 days since I first had this camera. My overall impression is that I really like it. It is the perfect walk-around camera---lightweight, compact and interchangeable lens. Well the kit lens 16-50mm is a pancake style retractable power zoom lens. Personally, I don't really like the lens. Since it is a power zoom, you can't really set the focal length manually. The zoom by wire ring and toggle work fine, but it is not as good as a traditional zoom with focal lengths present on the lens barrel . Every time you turn the camera on, the default focal length is 16mm. On holiday, the 16mm was not 'wide angle' enough for large buildings and 'covering a large area just in front of you'. In RAW mode, there is vignetting at the corners of 16mm shots. The camera corrects this in JPEG files. I find the JPEG less grainy than RAW. It feels like a toy lens on a pro body camera. Another thing is that the power zoom motor is quite loud and can be heard in video... that's a problem.

The shutter sounds rather pleasing, although it is quite loud.

The electronic viewfinder is really good, really high resolution. The downside is that it requires more power than the LCD, therefore reducing the number of pictures you can take. Battery life is quite good. I could take more than 500 shots with the original Sony battery on a full charge (and using the viewfinder for a good number of shots)

To get most out of this camera, don't use the auto mode all the time. That's why you paid for the other modes. I find that the auto mode always tries to stick to ISO 100 all the time, The shutter speed is also quite slow, making moving objects blurry. S mode is really good for street photography--to capture that moment. I think 1/320 is good enough. ISO 1600 is not bad at all. A mode is useful, but with a f value of 3.5-5.6 from 16-50mm, there aren't many values to choose from.

Shooting against the sun is rather difficult. There is DRO and it is helpful. Levels 1-5 of DRO can be adjusted. Using flash might help.

10FPS continuous shooting is really useful (not in everyday situations though) I have seen a few NEX-7s, One or two NEX-6 and plenty of NEX5s. I saw someone with a NEX 7 decked out in 18-200 complete with lens hood... also someone with NEX5 with flash attached and lens hood. Looks really cool. Whereas, the NEX-6 looks like a regular point and shoot---a harmless camera (not intimidating at all).

Sometimes, I get out of focus images.(because I pressed the shutter button without allowing the auto focus to work) Also, it is rather difficult to capture that moment instantly, unlike the Olympus EM5. I often get a slight delay before the shutter is triggered.

The WiFi function on this camera is quite useful. I use it to view images on an Android phone using the PlayMemories app. This WiFi function is particularly useful for file sharing. (Not very useful for 'pro' photography.)

I have seen a lot of cameras during this trip. DSLRs are the most common. Every Tom Dick and Harry has a DSLR... The worst culprit... China. Seriously... Canon L lenses are like nothing... So many Chinese people (of all ages) have L lenses and 5D Mk2/3 Some even have 2 DSLRs. Even a grandmother has an L lens and DSLR.

While in Tallinn, I saw 2 people with pro gear. 70-200mm Canon as well as pro bodies... Then in Санкт-Петербург, there was a wedding photo shoot with the 70-200 as well.

Monday 11 February 2013

A plane just passed my wndow... Damn the prop is loud.
11.21 PM

flying quite low. I could see the green light (right wing)
Flying left to right.

This is kind of rare, because hardly anyone does nightflights here.

Saturday 9 February 2013

Feel so bad right now...

If I applied for A100, I might even get all unsucessfuls. I'm not in a position to comment.
Every single Med offer just makes me even sadder. I don't even know why.
Maybe this Chem Eng is just a cover up?

But it really hurts so badly...like deep down.
I don't feel anything if others get offers from top Unis like Oxbridge or any other course.

But an offer for Medcine...  any uni...
I can only say: the offer is theirs, nobody can take it away from them.

So many people switched from Medicine to other courses... but not the other way round.

I want it so much... But I can't get it.

I can reapply next year
I can apply as a graduate entry.

You think no one wants the course as badly as you?

I would favour:
Emergency medicine/ Anesthesiology/ Obstetrics- Gynaecology /Dermatology

It's really rewarding in my opinion.

Sunday 6 January 2013

What the freakkk? Where can I get the 'custom pipes' ?
That sound is pleasure...

Friday 4 January 2013

Singaporeans are rich man...

So many nice cars...

Audi Q7, plenty of Audi sedans... I also saw a Mercedes C250 Coupe
Plenty of BMW 5 and 7 series...
E class sedans...
A CLS
A cream Nissan GT-R at parkway parade.

All these just within a span of 5 minutes.

If Singaporeans could afford these sort of cars in this part of the world,
they would be buying Ferraris, Lamborghinis and what nots in other parts of the world.

It's the ridiculous COE price... SGD 90000++

Thursday 3 January 2013

Maserati Gran Turismo !!! I think the colour is Bianco Fuji. Some sort of pearly... cream.
Damn... that sound. Probably the best sounding exhaust.

Later along the highway, at Pagoh rest area. There was a white Audi R8 and a red porsche on the other side. They were quite fast. It looks really nice when such cars travel fast.

Several of those X6s seen today. I might have seen an S6something AMG in Singapore.
You have your usual BMW 5 series : G1M 262... I still remember.
Some E-class sedans... this E 300 was travelling at 'normal speed' and cars behind were almost tail gating.

Surprisingly, the 0-100 times are not very much different.
E200-E250-E300
7.9
7.7
7.4
1.8 liter vs 3 liter         .... only 0.3s faster ???

E 300 : Higher road tax, more CO2 emissions...

I think BMW's 528i M sport is not bad. 2 liter engine... 6.3s
For BMW, it's either 8, 6.3 or 6.1.
The 6.1 is for the 535i

The 3-series is so fast man.
7.6,6.1,5.5
The basic 320i can do 7.6 wowww 2 liter engine twin turbo.
335i with 5.5s.
Mercedes...
C180 has a 1.8 liter turbo. 8.9s

So, it's like 8.9,7.8,7.2,7.2
C250 and C 300 have the same 0-100?

Wednesday 2 January 2013

Nissan R35 GT-R

Hmm... First time seeing an orange Audi. Not bad.

Another GTR seen along 1/76. It looks grey/black
Come on... any Tom Dick and Harry has a GTR now.

So many GTRs in Malaysia now.
http://www.carlist.my/used-cars/952876/2008-nissan-gtr-a-.html
The 2008 model is the cheapest R35 GTR- you can find one at MYR 330K. (But it has 40000 km on it already) They term it as 'low millage'.
The new models have more power.

Damn funny:

Tuesday 1 January 2013

I saw that WTF 407 Peugeot along Jalan Kia Peng. I have seen it before along Jalan Ampang Hilir.

Later at night... TAN 5 Porsche Panamera. Free parking since it was late.
