Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas everyone! I had a Christmas lunch today. Unexpectedly, a few of my cousins turned up. Thus I could not have the whole Turkey to myself O_O The Turkey was ordered from Rain tree Club, just outside my home. Surprisingly, it is both tender & succulent! I enjoyed it so much. I used the specially bought two pronged fork and knife set---- looks more realistic, instead of the normal dinner fork. So we said goodbye to the cousins as they were leaving for Hong Kong. Once Again Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got back from Singapore

Hello,
I just got back from Singapore. It was quite late as me stopped for quite a long time at the rest areas. I used the chiller in the car to store a can drink & some bread. It needed a while to be cold. So at the end of the journey I could enjoy a cold drink. The Peugeot 407 has sensors to monitor the tyre pressure. Front is 2.4 bar and rear is 2.8 bar-----that is what the manual says.
SO 1 bar=100KPA (kilo pascals)
We got a little confused as we found out 1 bar is 100 000 Pa (Pascals)
I learned that kilo means 100.
So we got back in time.
The Restaurant that we normally go to was closed today.

2nd last dayof school!

Heloooo, Today is the 2nd last day of school!! Looking forward to the holidays. We received our Chinese Homework today. We also had a performance & presentation on Deepavali. A few students and teachers from Global Indian International came to our school to share with us about Deepavali. I think we should always uphold racial & religious harmony. Any way Mrs Chuah reminded us to check the Heymath portal regularly. I am starting to read the "Journey to the West" Chinese book. Quite OK. I think the other book is more interesting. Hmmm... we shall see how to do the book review. Chinese Homework: 1.Composition 2.Newspaper Cutting 3. Book review According to Jo ann, CCA was cancelled for Sec 1. I think there is some sort of workshop tomorrow. Wonder if it is interesting? BYE==+==

SA2 Paper 1 for English & Chinese

Hello,
Today was the Paper 1 for English & Chinese. For English letter writing I wrote the WRONG format !!! Composition was OK :( Then Chinese letter writing was OK. The Chinese Composition was really bad!!! It sucks! I didn't even finish it...
Something interesting happened. Joel Yeo was kicking a soccer ball. He missed and Crash ! the WINDOW broke. Maybe some glass flew out.Now there is a bigger hole. Ms Lee came in. Luckily nobody was hurt. We cleaned it up and got ready for the Chinese Test. It was disastrous! First, the teacher brought up the HIGHER Chinese Paper. So we could not do it. WE had to wait for the NORMAL Chinese Paper instead. That really put me off the examination. So Sad:~(

Moon cake Festival

Hello, Today we celebrated the Moon cake Festival until 8.30 pm :( So late... Can't even go home early. There is also CCA. Had dinner at 4.00p.m then went to hall for the celebration. First it was the Singing competition then the Chang Er fashion design competition. Yipeee, Elizabeth won second place. It was so close to getting a 1st!! :-) This would surely increase the status level of 1Gee ! We walked around the parade square to visit he different booths. The booths include tea appreciation, Chinese Chess, Chinese Orchestra, Moon cake tasting, and many more... We could not go back until 8.30p.m!!! Ms Chua blocked us from going up to class to get our bags. Before that, some of us were in class and the lights were switched off. It was so spooky ! When it was still bright, some of us played basketball. ByE

Healthy Week

Hello, Health week starts today. Today we went to the Performing Arts Studio (PAS) for Literature, for the first half of the lesson. The next half was in the Eagles' Nest. Finally, the skid is postponed to Wednesday :) I received my essay assignment back. I got 19/25 , a good 1st attempt. The Literature test is next Monday, exactly 1 week from now. It is going to be on Private Eloy. For P.E we played a game, which concerns the whole class. There is a catcher and a runner. No more Gym ! Unfortunately, for ACC, there is a small project. We need to form a group of six members and tell Nelson, the ACC rep. We each received an apple for health week. Mr.Wee is our new Science teacher. Everybody is so relieved. He gave us a stack of Science notes. He said we could discard Mdm Norlindah's noted :XD , which everybody did even before him saying. For History, I handed in the Task 2. I got back the Mind Map. I got an A:-] For Chinese, I handed in the Newspaper Report. There was CCA today, just revised our songs, then went home.

Third last day of school!!!

Hello, Today I stayed back for Chinese remedial. This week's was good. Then I went to the Library with Jerome, Nelson & Nigel for the English Literature multi-modal activity.Mrs Chuah gave us an individual project on Data Handling & Statistics .We are supposed to conduct a survey about the use of Computer times, on 50 teenagers . It must be teenagers. Maybe I am going to survey myself. :XD Mean, median, mode. There is a SCIENCE Common Test tomorrow, and I have not studied for it :( Doesn't matter to me. Today is Mdm Norlindah's last class with us in 1G. Many classmates asked for a final scolding and recounted about her past scoldings, which were numerous... When she dismissed us, we all said a big Thank You, to show our appreciation. I think we will be happy that Mr.Wee takes over her lesson the next term. Anyway, We are going to get back our CA2 results. I know I have done somewhat badly, I don't dare to say I can even get 2 A1s. Well, I shall work harder next term, in all subjects regardless of the importance. I also would like to study hard for the Chinese Test on 11/9/2008, the phrase book 1---30 & the proverbs book 1---30 also. There is a Comprehension included too. Bye for now...

He even wore our school P.E attire, maybe to blend in with the crowd. From far, he looked like an ordinary student. 1...2...3...GO!!! Mr. Lim started the run The pacing was good, thank God everything went well.I was elated when I crossed the finishing line.Mr. Hu recorded all our times on a clocking device---used for many people in the same race. There was a long strip of paper coming out---all the boys' timing. I got 116/141 . As expected, Ang Ming Wei got 141/141 for the run.Cannot blame him for that. He does not like any sort of PHYSICAL EXERCISE... Back in Singapore...

Hello, I just came back from MALAYSIA.The journey was from 2p.m to 7.30p.m. Transportation of HP Colour Laser Jet CM1015 MFP-------successful... It was bought about a week ago at Lao Yat Plaza, a shopping mall that specialises in electronics, just like Sim Lim Square here. The old printer was so bad that it was as good as not having one.(Lexmark X1200) I saw at at the mall, it was still priced at RM 199, which did not even change since last year. So as U know, colour laser 3 in 1 printers are quite expensive. It is retailed at RM 1520, well quite reasonable. We did consider the SAMSUNG one, which was cheaper, but in the long run was more expensive to maintain, because the toners are costly. When I reached home I unpacked all the things and installed the printer. Then, I ate the egg tarts that we packed back from Ah Yat restaurant at Avenue K, which was near CORUS Hotel Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA. The food was nice, but for a price. We had abalone, sharks fin, you know that sort of thing. There was a hefty price of RM 240 to pay though. However, we were given free parking and a RM 50 voucher. I am quite sleepy now. Bye for now zzz...zzz...zzz...

You just insert the money, select your food , collect the ticket, then pass the ticket to the shop attendant to prepare your food.

After we had breakfast at Rihga Nakanoshima Inn, we went to the Nara Deer Park. There were hundreds of deers there, roaming freely.Next, we visited the Todaiji Temple, where I saw one of the largest bronze Buddha structures. We proceeded to eat lunch at the nearby restaurant, then we visited the famous Kyomizu Temple, where there was nice scenery of Kyoto.Followed by that, we went to visit Nishijin Textile centre where we watched a Kimono fashion show. After that, we went to ride the bullet train to Gifu-Hashima station. The bullet train appears to be going at high speeds from outside (the loud sound of moving air , and the shaking of the ground)
However, from inside the train, is is relatively smooth and easy going. The price of a ticket that is 1 stop away is extremely expensive, about SGD$ 50.It took about 13 minutes to reach the station.

Day 1: (28th May 2008)

Hello, Here's the report ::: After we landed in Kansai Airport, we were greeted by the tour leader, after that, we were taken by bus to the famous Universal Studios Osaka, Japan, for those who want to go there. As Kansai Airport is on an artificial island, we had to cross a bridge to get over to the city of Osaka. The weather, was of course cooler than Singapore. Osaka is the second largest city, after Tokyo, Japan's capital. It took quite a while before we reached Universal studios. The bus dropped off those who want to go and took the remaining few to the famous Osaka Castle. The bus was parked nearby and we had to walk for about 15 minutes before we got to the castle. Then, we had a Japanese set lunch at one of the restaurants nearby. After that, we went to look around the castle. There was a time capsule and a ginkgo tree that was more than 400 years old. Next, the bus took us to Chinatown in Kobe. I bought a green tea flavored ice-cream, which is very popular in Japan. Then, we went to Harbourland, a town close to the bay. We ended our day at Shinsaibashi and Dotombori, the major shopping belt in downtown Osaka. We had our own dinner at a restaurant that specialises in crab. That was the best crab that I had ever tasted !!! It is also quite reasonable, about ¥4500, for a combo set for 2. We stayed for a night at Rihga Nakanoshima Inn. The hotel room was quite good .

Just heard the announcement, that we can board now.The plane is SQ 618, bound for Osaka, Japan. It will land in Kansai International Airport (KIX). It will take about 7 hours to reach there. We will be going in a group with SA tours. Bye for now...

The DAY before holiday to JAPAN

Hello,
I will be going to Japan on the 27th of May 2008 for holiday. I am preparing for the trip. The temperature, is of course cooler than Singapore :10--25 degrees Celsius. Been busy packing the necessary items such as toiletries , camera, travel documents, not including air ticket as it will be given when we reach Changi Airport Terminal 3,row 10), etc. It wll be a midnight flight so that means it is the 28th of May already... The time difference is 1h in Japan, compared to here as it is in a different time zone
All mobile phones used there must be able to support 3G. So that means I can't us mine there. Any way, I will be upgrading mine soon, maybe in June. I also can take advantage of this trip to do my Geography assignment. Japan uses the Type A plug, with 2 parallel flat pins. Luckily, the digital camera also uses this plug, so I do not have to purchase an adapter.
Bye Bye , I am off to pack my things.

Last day of school for Term 2!

Hello, today is the last day of school of Term2. Looking forward to the holidays. Unfortunately, we have tons of homework & projects. For English there is Comprehension, for Chinese , we have to do a book review (one of the new Chinese books we bought), Composition, a newspaper article review and a piece of letter writing. There will also be a test when school reopens. It seems that we will have to know the 2 books extremely well in order to sit for the test:( For Maths, we must do the Workbook, and we will have a few online tests. There will also be a test during the first week of school. There's also Project Work (PW). We are supposed to submit a individual Summary Report. There's also Geography----the pamphlet on forests. Also to be submitted during the first week of school. What a fateful day to end the term. Marcus,Mark and me ended up cleaning up the classroom, instead of going for CCA. All because we did not write the 500 lines. Bye for now!

PET Rocket Day

Hello,
Today was the day of the PET rocket project. We brought two 1.5L bottles to school. However, each person only needed to bring 1 bottle. My friend, Aaron did not bring, so I shared with him. Excess bottles will have to be recycled. One bottle was used as the storage tank for water and air. (That's why we need to bring bottles used to contain carbonated drinks, because it is stronger than ordinary mineral water bottle). The other bottle was cut up and used for making the shape of the rocket. There was a orange cone used for the nose of the rocket. A nozzle was screwed on to the opening of the bottle. Then, it was filled with water until 1/3 full; we inserted the opening of the bottle into the firer. Aaron pumped the air until 2 units, while I did the firing.
I was supposed to pull the blue trigger downwards to release the rocket.
We all got drenched after firing the rocket. It blasted water out of the nozzle and landed somewhere near the target. Followed by that, we went to the Hall to get a briefing about the whole project, including how the rocket works and how Newton's law applies here. Hey, do you know what does PET stand for? Now then I realised it is the abbreviation of a type of plastic called Polyethylene terephthalate. Sounds pretty scientific does't it.
The uses of it : is a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family and is used in synthetic fibers; beverage, food and other liquid containers; thermoforming applications; and engineering resins often in combination with glass fiber. It is one of the most important raw materials used in man-made fibers.
Looking forward to the Holidays in 3 days time :XD

Tampines Mall

Hello,
I went to Tampines Mall today after my Chinese tuition.Parked the car at the public car park at Pasir Ris, then took the MRT to Tampines Mall. It's quite far from Pasir Ris, and quite big too. There is a ZINC shop there. Bought 2 ZINC bags there. 1 medium sized one, for tuition / days with only a few things to bring, 1 large one, for normal school days. The large one was a limited edition , the exterior made of plastic =$$69.90. The medium sized one , the exterior made of PVC type of cloth costs $41.30 after 10% discount from the membership card, which you will get if you spend $50 in a single receipt. I have 2 cards :XD Total cost:---$111.20
The discount does not apply to limited edition bags and promotion items.
By the way, the Heritage Trail was OK, not that interesting.Have some photographs, ENJOY:

The DAY of the Heritage Trail

Hello, Today is the day of the Heritage Trail. Some say it is boring, though I find it a little fun. Went to Fort Canning after Project Work. Wanted to stay back to complete English Project, but we do not have enough "manpower" .Guess we have to do it during the weekends or on Wesak Day:( You know what is the saddest thing, we have to write 500 lines of "I must remember to off the lights and fans when I leave the classroom." This is only the second time and Ms Lee just punished us just like that. At least she could give more chances:-[( WELL so much for that. Bye Bye

Tuesday 13 May 2008

Social Enterprise Day (SED)

Hello, haven't been posting for a long time. It was the Social Enterprise Day last week. It was kind of the Entrepreneurship Day in Primary School, except that it was for a week. We sold ice blends, fries, cup noodles, pizza. On Monday, the extension socket fused, as a result of using too many high Ampere(Amp) appliances like boilers, fryers and blenders. We had to go to the Computer Lab to borow another one. After 3 people came back from the NCC camp on Wednesday, our mascot, wore a mini skirt. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to sell fries and cup noodles that were prepared in school, because of the healthy week. So we had to settle for coke float & butter corn instead. We also sold milk straws. We lost a lot of money because of this :(

Well hi, There has been quite a few common tests these few weeks, including English, Chinese,E Mathematics, Science etc... I have to stay back on Monday and Friday until 5.30p.m. for Chinese Orchestra(CO) and Tuesday for swimming near the school. The teacher for my section asked us to bring home our instruments to practise. It was kind of loud blowing it, much like a trumpet. I was elected as one of the Treasurer for my class. I do the accounts for the class fund and the other person keeps the money. Our class enterprise day is coming up soon. Guess everybody will be busy as we are assigned positions eg. advertising, preparing of food, cleaning, logistics etc... I will be cleaning:-()
