Last 5 days in Singapore

I got back today. Journey was quite OK.

In the morning, there was this red Mercedes E250 coupé in red---reminds me of the Maserati Gran Turismo MC Stradale. Nice... (WWB plate--very new) Somehow, most of the new number plates are on nice cars.

Along the highway, there were 2 Nissan R35 GT-Rs. Both were Malaysian registered. One of them was silver and was eventually driven to Singapore. The metallic brown GTR was on the other side.

The funny thing about the silver GT-R: the driver drove it to the rest stop and I guessed he stopped for a while. About 30mins later, that same GT-R overtook the coach lol... The power of a Nissan GT-R. Unfortunately, he could not go far and eventually ended up at the Immigration and Checkpoints Singapore.

Why are there so many GT-R owners in Malaysia ??? Rich ************( whatever ) Where do they get their GT-Rs from? I don't think it's from Nissan directly. The stock GT-R exhaust is just OK, not that impressive, but the car sure is fast.

FInally back in SIngapore... where you find nicer cars and German cars aplenty.
At Telok Blangah , I saw this gorgeous looking white Range Rover Evoque. I think it's a 4-door version.

Greenview Restaurant

Wow on the way to Greenview Restaurant, that Peugeot 407 was driven like a sports car. So fun... with all the fast corners, nearly knocking into an S-class. Almost bumped into a 5-series while changing lanes. Lol my father really hates slow cars... everything has to be fast... lul

That MINI Countryman is so fast !!! It's acceleration was impressive. Within a few seconds, it was already ahead. Interesting. It had a Copper S badge at the back. I think it looks pretty good, white body with black stripes running through the centre. It had black rims too.

Sunday 25 December 2011

Merry Christmas !!!

Perfect Christmas. In the morning, there was a, white Mercedes E250 coupé ....simply gorgeous. I don'tknow why but the E-class coupés always look better than the E-class sedans. silver Volkswagen EOS, a white Audi R8 :-).Hmmm 2nd R8 seen. White Audi A4 too.
LoL 4-door MINI Cooper Countryman...  at Levain Patisserie and Boulangerie... At that place, you have your usual Apple users. bla bla iPhone, iPad .

It's 5:40 and time to collect the turkey from Hock Choon. WOWOW a red Ferrari F430 Spyder parked outside Ampang Walk. The top was still up, when it was parked, but the driver dropped the top and took off. I could tell it was a F430 from the front diffusers. Impressive sound. The 458 Italia Spyder would be even more stunning, but I don't think it would be likely at that moment.

Well, I've seen many people post pictures of exotic cars like Bentleys at Ampang Walk. Now, I've actually seen one for myself. 2nd time seeing a Ferrari (out of the 26 days I have been here.)... not bad Can't wait to check out London. I would probably see them everyday.

iPhone / iPad easy to use? I don't think so.

If you think an iPhone / iPad is easy to use ? Think again.
It is so clunky to transfer files from your computer to an iPhone / iPad. Only videos and pictures show in a normal Windows explorer -.- If you want to put in songs, you have to use iTunes and sync, for just 1 song. -.-
You have to use Sharepod to backup your  songs -.-
I can't even receive / send files via Bluetooth, without downloading other applications. -.-
NO FLASH !!! -.-

Thursday 22 December 2011

I'm trying to download Team Fortress 2 (10521.8 MB)
Lol tmnet is going to kill me for that. 10GB in 2 days... using a 1Mbps connection. I'm averaging about 80-100 KB/s -.- , although there was a peak download rate of 196 KB/s.
Well I think I can still download this faster if I use a 3G connection in Singapore. (still falls within the monthly quota of 12 GB)

Streamyx monopolises the whole internet in Malaysia---not funny :|
U Mobile seems to be interesting. 42Mbps Mobile broadband. (maximum 20GB of data per month)
TIME is another alternative at 50Mbps (misleading because you don't get 50Mbps speed throughout)

Wednesday 21 December 2011

Burritos

I had 4 pieces of scallop and vegetables Teppanyaki at Pavilion for dinner.
Burrito to go---I had beef popi, which was from Popilla. Nice. I have tried their tacos, but not their burritos. Actually I wanted lamb kebab from the stall next to it, but lamb was sold out.

Mercedes seems to be very popular here.Somewhere along the way, I saw the new E-class coupé. Before the carpark entrance, there was a silver E200. The lights on the new E-class look nice. Outside Westin Hotel, there was a black S-class with a DC plate. In front of it was a previous generation E-class, also with a DC plate. When we came into the carpark entrance, there was a black CLS. (de-badged)

When we were leaving, there was another (very new) S-class---number plate beginning with WWD Somewhere near the exit, there was this golden (very new) C200---number plate beginning with WWB

Lol I saw someone with an iPhone 4S (black)

Tuesday 20 December 2011

WiFi Hotspot creator is free and actually works :) Kudos to the developers of this application. This will serve as a substitute to the Internet pass through, which is absent in the Samsung Galaxy S II, but present in the HTC EVO 3D. (really useful if you only have a wired network, but no Wi-Fi. )

Monday 19 December 2011

If you've got a problem...well, go buy a life at WalMart. I mean, it's your local store, and it only costs 2 bucks... hahaha

Friday 16 December 2011

I saw this ( SL 1) number plate on a 'what looked like a black C-class body'. It had quad exhausts. It was de-badged and I could not tell the model.  Hmmm, several E class sedans seen today. Strangely enough, I didn't see any CLS today. 7-series ===Yes, quite a few actually. 2 white ones and a light grey one.

I went to Mid Valley to buy the Samsonite luggage in navy blue. I also dropped by Adidas to have a look at the F10 IN.  I like the white and green/blue colour scheme, not so much of the Neon Orange/Yellow. The Chameleon Purple is nice too, but they don't have it this year.

At Green View restaurant, there was a black Porsche 911 Carrera S (WTN something...) Strange place for this car lol. I knew it.. it turns out the driver was in Green View restaurant. haha... The Carrera S can only fit 2 people :this guy and this girl with her bare back exposed got in. Porsches are not very loud. Very silent and fast ... very good for remaining discreet. Wow I like that roof line... simply stunning.

I'll most probably get a Samsung Galaxy S II later today.

Thursday 15 December 2011

WUH 86 : BMW 740Li in dark graphite/sophisto grey. OMG that is so awesome... I like the brake lights and the chrome line at the back. I also like the 'shoulder line which extends uninterrupted from  bonnet to boot'  The door handles are the prettiest as compared to all the other cars in it's class.  It costs MYR 818,800.00 I like how the owner chose the 740Li instead of the 730Li. I don't believe a 740Li is still cheaper than a 650i Coupé. MYR 888,800.00 -.-

Well surprisingly, the 730Li can carry a heavier load (660kg) than the 760Li (590 kg) -.-  Lol 7-series can't beat Porsche Panamera's 100 litre fuel tank. (82 litres) Also, the 760Li had a higher drag coefficient than the 730Li
0.29-0.30-0.31-0.32  (referring to 730Li-740Li-750Li-760Li) Well I think BMW made the figures up.  haha...

Wednesday 14 December 2011

WTD 6 ===Bentley (outside PAVILION car park exit)

There was also this cool number plate : W 2 on a BMW 5-series.

Inside PAVILION basement car park, there was this Chrysler Crossfire. (Uncommon I suppose)

I went to PAVILION at about 4p.m. It was jammed -.- Fortunately, we were still able to reach the basement carpark. I had lamb chop. After that, I proceeded upstairs and looked around. First to Samsonite. Then I went to Epi-centre. No sign of the iPhone 4S posters/banners. It is supposed to be launched on the 16th of December. 2 more days. Gosh their accessories are so expensive. The iPad 2 leather smart cover costs MYR 299. What the?  --well that's the same as the price listed online.  The polyurethane one costs MYR 159. That was really smart of Apple to offer different colours for the leather and polyurethane ones.  If you have : tan, black, navy, ,cream or red---- that means you have more money and opted for the leather instead of the polyurethane. lol :| I like the tan colour.

I went to Nike to have a look at the Nike Elastico Finale. It costs MYR 369. The Finale version has some form of spikes on the sole, which are otherwise absent in the other 2 (cheaper) variants.

I also went to Adidas to look at the F50 series of shoes. The top-of-the range football cleats costs MYR 702== wow that is super light. Very nice. Of course, I'm not looking for cleats. Instead, I'm looking for futsal (indoor) shoes. The F10 IN looks pretty good. Last year they had that in Chameleon Purple. But this year, that colour scheme doesn't seem anywhere in sight. Instead,
I saw the white with green( slime) type.

Mercedes Benz CLS 350

I swear, that Mercedes Benz CLS 350 is so common in Kuala Lumpur. I saw quite a few just now. At Great Eastern Mall, near the entrance, there was a S 300. In front of it, a Jaguar XJL ----niceeeee... Further inside, a silver CLS Parked right in front. Ok... I thought. Just then, another silver CLS 350 exited from the basement carpark. The driver was clearly dismayed... because we stopped for too long in search for a parking space. There was also this Silver C 200 exiting. Not far from the premier banking parking lot, there was another silver CLS 350...

Monday 12 December 2011

Malaysians are becoming more affluent

Wow there were a few 'expensive' cars parked at the front of Great Eastern Mall this afternoon. A Porsche Panamera, a Bentley and a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, one after the other. WoW.

I had dinner at Hakka restaurant today. Interesting cars seen today. First, a BMW X6 in some form of red. The, there was this silver CLS 350 just before Hakka.Gorgeous... That was a very new car, with a number plate beginning with WWC ... :O. 'very nice car' commented by father. Yeah, everyone would agree. lollll. There was also another silver CLS 350 inside Hakka restaurant...

There was a Peugeot RCZ parked right in front of the restaurant. That was quite impressive. White car with a black roof and black rims. The number plate is WWB something... also a very new car (the current series is WWG 1-9999)

After dinner, there was a Porsche Cayenne Turbo...

Sunday 11 December 2011

AHHHHH THIS IS SO NICE !!!!!!

I KNEW BMW WILL MAKE A 4-DOOR 6 SERIES...
I LIKE THE 6-SERIES AS A COUPÉ...

NOW, IT FINALLY COMES IN A 4-DOOR VERSION...
I had lunch at Chi Hao Dian. Nissan GT-R and Audi parked side by side at Kuchai Business Park. The GT-R was white, with gold brake callipers. Awesome... Silver Audi I think.

LOL Another White  GT-R passed by Raintree Club...  The circular brake lights are nice. Inside Raintree Club, there was a silver Porsche 911 Carrera 4S (WVG 28) and a BMW 523i (WUV 2332) My favourite executive car and my favourite colour too :)  What the heck? The CKD costs MYR 383,800 but the previous  (CBU) costs MYR 398,800. -.- Well, the only consolation you get from buying a BMW in Malaysia is that they are cheaper than those in Singapore :| The Porsche, on the other hand is supposed to cost MYR 920,000.

I have not seen any Panamera in Malaysia yet,let alone a Turbo S...the main reason being: it costs at least MYR 1 million -.- At least the Cayenne costs MYR 550,000...

Saturday 10 December 2011

Raintree Club

I saw a Porsche Cayenne S in Raintree Club. Haha... (Yesterday, there was a Porsche Cayenne.)
There was also this Bentley Continental GT --- as seen from the 2 doors.(really rare) That's a MYR 1 million ++ car lulz. But in London, maybe you can see this car everyday on the road. :)

This iPhone is so problematic...

This iPhone is the worse phone I have ever tried... Despite changing the SIM card, it still experiences signal problems and the inability to call.

Monday 5 December 2011

How to buy an iPhone

I just bought a new iPhone 4S  White 32GB... It wasn't exactly straightforward to buy one -.- This particular model was from M1, at Paragon Orchard. It seems that this is the first time that they are selling without a contract. It costs SGD 1105, which is different from the online price of SGD 1088 ...
I think the models from M1 cost  $960/$1105/$1255.  for 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB respectively.

I joined the queue at about 7:30p.m. The M1 shop was opposite the iStudio shop. At that time all the models were available, except for the 64GB White. At 9p.m it was my turn... They said only the Black models were available for non-contract. Need an IC to buy an iPhone-.- 7005---I don't know why, but they offered the exclusive white iPhone 32GB. This was funny. The man said payment by Visa was not allowed if you don't show a passport... So, just say pay by NETS and use your Visa at the payment counter. Really funny...

The iPhone looks really plain out of the box. Not many application. Most of the applications require an Internet connection, including Siri. Looks like the iPhone is designed to work with Internet.

So what's so good about an iPhone? I don't know.

Update about the HTC EVO 3D

I have been using this phone for about 3 weeks. It is quite good. If you are a 3D person, you would definitely buy it. This phone was tested on a standard 2G network, using a prepaid hi!card, that does not support mobile broadband (GPRS). Overall, it was quite good.

However, there were still some occasional disappointments. A few days ago, the phone had some reception issues. One moment it was fine, and the next moment: limited service-.- The battery life was so bad when it was searching for a network :( So this happened many times through out that day. The battery life dropped from 100 % when I left to 75% when I came home. It even had dropped calls. I was in the middle of a call and suddenly, nothing could be heard (as a result of 'limited service').

Today, the battery life was less than satisfactory. I don't know, but something seemed to be draining the battery. I kill all the possible applications, but to no avail. It was just a while since I had left and 95% -.- When I came back, it was 87% ( I only made 2 short calls).
Well, this isn't normal, because even after making 2 calls, the normal battery life should be (95%-99%). So, I shall try again tomorrow and see if this improves. It seems to be fine now.

The test goes like this:
Charge the phone to 100%.
Leave at 2p.m.
Arrive at Clementi at about 2.50p.m
Make a short call (<1min in duration)
At about 5.10p.m, make another short call (1minReach home at about / before 7p.m

So, from 2p.m to 7p.m, the battery should not drop by > 7% (assuming you don't use the phone in between the calls)

I'm hoping to compare this to the Samsung Galaxy S II (once I get my hands on one).
Galaxy S II does 56 MFLOPS vs  EVO 3D does 44 MFLOPS ----impressive

Saturday 3 December 2011

I saw a black Bentley in Haig Road. It could be a  Bentley Mulsanne.

So, I come across the Red Maserati again. This time however, the acceleration was less spirited.

At Simei, outside Eastpoint, there was a white Nissan GT-R coasting along. The sound was not bad.

I think Nissan GT-Rs are getting more common in Singapore. It's not all that affordable anyway. -.-
